Project 4 was definitely my favorite project of the semester. The creative freedom really added to my experience. A lot of decisions I made for my project were made on the fly. For example, I wasn’t originally planning on having any sort of character present for my webventure, but the sudden idea that a businessman in a survival situation popped into my mind and I thought it would be funny. Another example is the eldritch horror that our businessman runs into and the options that come with it. It is not an amazing feat, but one of my most clever ideas for the project was to display the Minecraft death screen after choosing the option to play Minecraft. There, I decided to put in the easter egg for my webventure. That screen is the one and only screen where you are able to “respawn” and continue your journey.
My favorite part of the project was making the gifs for my scenes and creating all the different possible routes. I have previous experience making gifs in Photoshop, so I actually went into this project with some prior knowledge that definitely helped me get it done more efficiently. Again, I didn’t want to make the gifs look nice, I wanted them to be funny. I actually wanted to add a blush to the eldritch horror, but I forgot.
One of the main goals for my webventure was to make it funny and sarcastic. I am honestly very proud of myself, because judging from the audible laughter from the class at a lot of points, I think I did a decent job at achieving what I was going for.
I think a negative aspect about my project is the inconsistent image sizes. Some of the pages also feel very empty. Overall, I loved this project, and I am proud of my work.
